May we never forget

Today marks the 7th anniversary of a day most will never forget..September 11th. On that day, Dave and I were both in Brownsville, Texas...I was teaching first graders and Dave was out on the road with his job. At about 10:30 a teacher came and told us about it, I was like "are you kidding me?" . We couldn't even put the tv on because of the kids and in Brownsville hardly any parents came to pick up their kids. It wasn't until I got home did I watch it over and over and over again in sheer disbelief with tears rolling down my face. I had just been in those towers on a school trip in '96. It just didn't seem real that this could be happening. But it had. We must never forget this tragedy. Thankfully many terror threats have been avoided since that day, but we as Americans must never forget and let history repeat itself.

I heard this video today on the radio and although today ought not be a day for political messages, it sends a resonating message that freedom comes at a cost that is paid over and over. It is never free and should never be flippantly taken for granted.
