My mom, Adriana Brigham has been politically active and informed most of her life. She has served twice as a delegate of our state at two RNC conventions and worked many a campaign. Her political intrigue was inherited from her Dad, my Papi who passed away this past January. He would have been just as excited about this election as we are. They shared a special bond when it came to all things political.
Until the last month, honestly, we were not that excited about our candidate. But the last month he has reached out to the base and has made probably the best decision of his political career by picking Sarah Palin as VP.
My mom has always felt strongly about aligning her Christianity with her politics and not compartmentalizing her life as many do. Many of faith steer clear of politics, but as my family has always done we embrace the fact that if we don't support those who share our moral values we will give an account for this. As seen in previous posts of mine, abortion is an issue that Christians cannot ignore. If you support a candidate that has repeatedly voted for the practice of infanticide, you are in the same right condoning the murder of babies. Jesus said in Matthew
"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.' Matthew 25:45
In the words of my Mom:
I am so excited on how well Gov. Palin did last night. I pray that the Lord will open the eyes of people especially Christians to see the danger we face with in electing a ticket which has no concern for the unborn, will raise our taxes, weaken our military, etc. We must pray for this great lady as well as her family and of course Sen. McCain. May God bless us with their victory in November. Pray and vote.

We too are SO excited about the team!!! Loved the speeches last night and the night before!
we are so much missing the excitement of it all, too much talk about her daughter. We do get to read exerts on FoxNews. I totally agree - if we as Christians fail to take a stand, we are responsible for our silence. God did not call us to sit by and watch the world do as it pleases, but to be salt and light and ambassadors for His truth. Miss you guys. (Oh, and the hair comment - I kept seeing her as blonde? was that just the old eyes? has she always been brunette? did realize it was the same person at first. but being a woman and all - i noticed :P)
