I'm going to copy what Chad does after his weekends because this week was very eventful.
* Tuesday during lunch one of my accounts Miami Carol City HS was locked down because one of the math teachers was shot outside of the school in an attempted robbery . As you can imagine, all of the students, teachers, and administration were shaken up. I spoke the students on my yearbook staff on Friday and they were still in shock. But in all this God was watching over Patty (my associate) I. She was just there on Monday at the exact time that this occurred.
* Tuesday night- Dave was ordained at the FRC staff meeting where Troy also shared an amazing message as he poured out his heart for the vision of the church. It was truly challenging as he shared out of 2 Timothy 4 on the apostle Paul's view on ministry.
* Wednesday early morning- My mom calls to tell me that my Abuela's older sister has passed away in her sleep. This was both sad and a relief in that she had been suffering health wise for the last 5 years. The saddest part is that she died by herself in the hospital, but we know that she is now in Heaven with the Lord. This will be extremely difficult for my Abuela as she has always been her sister's caretaker and this is the 3rd sibling she has lost in a year and a half.
* Wednesday mid-morning- As I am taking Patty to the airport in Miami, we see police with guns drawn checking all of the cars. I immediately turn on the radio and hear of another police shooting in Broward.
Before I hear that all Broward schools have been locked down, I arrive at South Broward High in Hollywood and can't get in. On my way back to Dade County, I pass by the pawn shop on Hollywood Blvd. where the shooter was caught about 30 minutes after I passed it. He was caught right near 3 of schools.....definitely too close for comfort...Thank you Lord for my safety.
* Wednesday night and Thursday morning- The wake and buriel of my great Aunt was very mixed with emotions. All of her nieces and nephews, her brother, and various friends came to pay their respects. Praise God that she is in Heaven.
Jonathan offered his words of comfort by saying that Tia Hilda was best friends with Eddy and they were having a party in Heaven with Jesus. How cool is that!!! I love how children bring a literal perspective to live.
*Friday- Our friend Ashley and Darwin Ortiz welcomed their first son "Little Darwin". Jonathan said that he was so happy that Little Darwin popped out of Ashley. We are so happy for their family. Check out Igor's blog for pics.
