This morning Jonathan was climbing up his shelves in his closet at 6:00 AM to get to his piggy bank. I was ready to kill him because he was supposed to be getting dressed ( we have a hard time focusing in the morning). Then, he desperately told me, but "Mommy, I have to give my monies to the poor children in Mexico because they will not have food or water or houses."
Then I asked him "that's so kind of you Jon. How much do you want to give?"
He replied, " I think one big money and a little one too." Which meant one dollar coin and a dime :). He talked the whole way to school about how he couldn't wait to put it in the offering bucket during chapel. He even reached in his pocket and showed it to the chaplain (Mrs. Warner) and made sure she knew it was for the poor children.
This made my heart feel so happy, that my little guy was thinking of someone other than himself. What a cool lesson from a four year old in selflessness.
Matthew 25:40 "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

It is admirable that you have been able to instill GIVING in your son even in his young life... really, admirable.. glory to God.
